Paywall Reader: Remove Paywalls Easily

The Paywall Reader removes paywalls from articles by redirecting users to archived and cached copies of web pages. While this method cannot eliminate all paywalls, it is very reliable and effective in most cases, including for major newspapers and media outlets. It works especially well for soft paywalls, where the content is merely covered by a pop-up, but the full text can still be archived and accessed.

How to Remove Paywalls

  1. Enter the URL: Insert the URL of the article you want to read in the blank field.
  2. Select an Option: You can select between Archive.Today, Internet Archive, or Google Translate to remove the paywall. If the chosen method does not work as intended, you can always try a different one.
  3. Read Without Restrictions: Enjoy full access to your article.

Why the Paywall Reader is Legal

This tool does not directly disable paywalls from websites, it simply redirects users to services that capture content snapshots or to Google Translate as an alternative for free access to content. Most paywalls can be bypassed using one of these methods, but it is important to note that websites may block these services from saving cached versions of articles, which means that not all paywalls can be removed.

Benefits of Using the Paywall Reader

  • Access articles for educational or research purposes;
  • Read about global events and news without subscribing to dozens of newspapers, which can be frustrating and financially difficult;
  • Explore content for scientific reference or general inspiration.
